2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a text file that is stored on your computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device with which you access the Internet to visit a website or to use an app. Each time you visit such website (or any other website connected to the same legal entity) or use such app, the (web) server reads the information in the cookie previously stored on your device.
In addition to cookies, other technologies with similar functions may be used on our websites and apps. For the purposes of the present policy, the term 'cookies' shall include all technologies that enable the storage and the reading of information on your device.
The cookies on our website are only used to enable the websites to function and to optimise your user experience:
- We use cookies that are strictly required in order to provide you with the services expressly requested by you.
- We use cookies to keep track of how you, as a user, use our websites at a global and anonymised level.
- However, we do not use any other type of cookies unless you have expressly agreed to this. You can easily revoke such consent at any time.
Please see chapter 3 for more information concerning the different types of cookies that can be used on our websites. Please refer to chapter 6 if you would like to know more about how to accept or reject cookies.
3. Which cookies does Waldon use and why?
The cookies used by Waldon's websites can be divided into three categories depending on their purpose:
- First category - Functional cookies: Cookies that optimise your user experience
- Second category - Analytical cookies: Cookies that allow Waldon to establish customer profiles.
- Third category - Marketing cookies: Cookies that share personal data with third parties
For more information about each type or category, please refer to section 4.1 (for the first category of cookies), 4.1 (for the second category of cookies) and 4.3 (for the third category of cookies).
4. Description of cookies
Waldon tries to offer you the best possible experience on its website. For this reason, our websites use technical and functional cookies to (i) enable you to navigate the website, (ii) use the website's features, and (iii) remember the choices and selections made by you during previous visits to one of our websites. This eliminates the need to repeatedly set your preferences. You can easily disable these cookies for our websites at any time by deactivating them in your browser settings. In such case, however, we cannot guarantee you the best user experience and possibly some (parts) of the websites may not work (properly), just like (some) services you have requested.
We try to make your experience on our websites as interesting as possible. These cookies track your clicking and surfing behaviour on our websites (e.g. checking the pages visited and the articles you read or click on). Your clicking and surfing behaviour on our websites is included in your customer profile, and enables the customisation of the content and advertisements for our products and services that you see on our websites, according to your needs, interests and preferences.
These cookies do not track you when you visit any website that is not linked to Waldon, and are never used to serve third-party interests.
Accepting such cookies does not mean that you can be directly identified, unless you have provided us with information by which you can be directly identified, such as information relating to the registration (e.g. when you register in a private area and create a login).
For more information on how Waldon uses your personal data for direct marketing purposes and your right to object to the use of your personal data for these purposes (including related profiling), please read our Privacy Notice, which can be consulted on www.waldon.be.
These cookies help us understand what you are interested in and which products you are viewing. This allows us to send you personal inspiration and offers in search engines and social media later on. Without these cookies, we will be unable to send you offers, and you will miss personal recommendations on our websites, newsletters, e-mails, etc.
These cookies may be used on our websites do disclose data to third parties, to be used by them for their own purposes, unless you have expressly accepted the category of cookies that share data with third parties.
These cookies are plug-ins that are offered by third parties (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) for certain functions on our websites, e.g. Facebook 'Like' and 'Share' buttons, Twitter 'Tweet' button, LinkedIn 'Share' button, etc.
These plug-ins are fully controlled by third parties and may be used by them to collect your personal data (e.g. your IP address), in addition to information about your surfing behaviour for their own purposes (for example for direct marketing, analytical studies or for market research by these third parties), even if you do not use these functions and simply surf to our websites. This may happen even if you do not have an account with the relevant social media platform. If such third parties use such cookies on other websites, this will enable them to track you across various websites, and compile the collected data to eventually build a profile of you.
Apart from such social plug-ins, such cookies also include third-party cookies that allow retargeting.
Since these cookies are fully under the control of third parties, Waldon has no control whatsoever over how such third parties manage these cookies or use the (personal) data collected through the same. We therefore advise you to read the privacy policy and cookie policy of such third parties if you would like more information about how such third parties use your personal information and cookies.
These cookies will not be used unless you accept them in your cookie settings. You may access the cookie settings from any page of the website or in your app settings.
If you do not accept these cookies:
- We guarantee that personal data collected through cookies will not be disclosed to third parties to be used by them for their own purposes
– However, this will also mean that the related function will not be available on our websites (e.g. share and like buttons will be disabled).
5. What will be the consequences if I accept or reject cookies?
On all our websites, you are free to choose whether or not to accept all – or only some – or none of the cookies, and you will always have the option of changing your cookie settings in the future. Please refer to chapter 6 if you would like to know more about how to accept or reject cookies.
If you agree to the use of cookies, this means that cookies can be placed and read each time you visit Waldon's websites. Your consent (per device) shall apply for a limited period of time (12 months).
If you do not accept cookies, you will still be able to access our websites, but we cannot guarantee you the best user experience. It is possible that certain functions or (parts of) our websites may not work (properly).
6. How can I change my cookie preferences on websites?

You can easily accept or reject the use of such cookies at any time in the cookie settings from any page of the website, or in your app settings.
